Goals

The main objectives of the project were:

1) Select an appropriate set of specific biomarkers of human exposure to harfmul chemicals from personal care and household products, including parabens, UV filters, phosphorous flame retardants, bisphenols, phthalates, and alternative plasticizers, as well as some oxidative stress biomarkers;

2) Develop a reliable multi-class analytical method to monitor these substances in wastewater and demonstrate its analytical feasibility;

3) Demonstrate the applicability of the developed methodology to assess human exposure to selected chemical substances through wastewater-based epidemiology.
